THE CRAUFURD ARMS: THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART & RIPPER OWENS LINE-UP

It'll be a busy night at The Craufurd Arms this evening (July 16) with New Yorkers The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, playing bar side.

Their melodic indiepop moments are yours for the taking after 8pm, in exchange for the twelve quid entry fee.

Expect music from the current long-player Days of Abandon to feature in the set.

MPMG pains of being

While 'Pains...' do their thing 'out the front' so to speak, the back venue will be hosting Tim 'Ripper' Owens.

Tim did the impossible in the mid-1990's - successfully filling the position left vacant when Rob Halford left Judas Priest.

Truth be told, belief in the relative unknown rising to the challenge was little, but Owens smashed it.

The first album featuring his voice, Jugulator, was a Grammy nominee to boot.

Nice work.

Halford's return to the Priest ranks pulled the curtain on his time with the metal legends, but Tim has continued to flourish - he struck up working relationships with Iced Earth and with that fret-fantastic-o Yngwie Malmsteen.

In the here and now he is operating solo, but his band Beyond Fear is still a concern too.

Tickets to see the man and hear that voice are just £7.

Support is coming from Past The Fall, Memories in Torment and Piston, doors at 7.30pm.
