Calcutta Brasserie wins big at MK Food and Leisure Awards

Staff at Calcutta Brasserie in Stony Stratford are celebrating after winning the Best Asian Restaurant award at the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards.

After being shortlisted by a public vote against every Asian restaurant in the Milton Keynes area, the restaurant was then judged by a mystery diner who scored each of the six shortlisted venues on food, service and atmosphere.

The results were announced at a glitzy black tie gala event at Holiday Inn CMK on Sunday evening, attended by more than 200 people from the hospitality industry with Calcutta Brasserie revealed as the winner.

“We are absolutely thrilled and so proud to have won this prestigious award," said restaurant manager Ali Ajmol.

"Our team work hard to give our customers outstanding food and service in a beautiful, historic setting. We are very proud to have won.”

The restaurant celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and over the past few years, Calcutta Brasserie has also won the Best Chef In The UK Award, been shortlisted twice in the British Curry Awards and won local praise for its charity work.
