Cordons are now being removed following this morning's activity surrounding two suspicious packages at Milton Keynes shopping centre.

The packages have been found to be safe, and evacuated stores at centre:mk are re-opening.

centre:mk said: 'We are pleased to report that the police have confirmed the unattended bags contained clothes and the cordons are now being removed.

'Thanks to Thames Valley Police for their quick response and all our customers for their support.'

In a tweet, police said: 'Thank you to everyone for their patience while officers dealt with this incident and we would encourage people to remain vigilant and report any concerns. Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of a bomb hoax offence. He is in police custody.'
