Gifts for kids: Our pick of the cool stuff for little folks this Christmas

Whether they like being creative, or are fascinated by birds and bugs, we have some cracking ideas for the perfect stocking fillers for youngsters.

Here are a few of our most favoured and affordable gifts that Santa should deliver later this month...

If your little 'uns like being creative, The Fuzzikins Campervan Carry Case is the perfect gift to pop under the tree for December 25.

The campervan is ideal for enthusiastic youngsters to get busy customising (stickers included) and the fuzzikins are adorable fuzzy animals to colour and play with.
They can be customised over and over again too - once you've finished, simply wash them clean, and then they are ready to be recoloured!

The carry case is compact and lightweight enough to be taken out and about...they even have a surfboard so they can ride the waves, before enjoying a meal. And, when night falls, they can have a cat-nap on the pull-down bed. It's wheely good fun!

Great for encouraging imaginative play, this groovy camper is from the Interplay brand, which is an assurance of quality, in our opinion.

It is so important to teach youngster the importance of all animals, insects and flora, and this fabulous range from Interplay allows them to get hands-on - and close up to some of living world's creatures who live in our back gardens and outside spaces.

There are fantastic kits allowing youngsters to study worms, snails, spiders and a microscope to make everything that bit clearer.

But, with the weather now chilly and the trees bare, it's our feathered friends who are struggling, and we should be making sure to fill our bird feeders with nutrition for the little ones.

But what if you don't have a garden? You can still provide nourishment with the My Living World Bird Feeder, which can be attached to any window (using the strong suction cups provided), and with its unique one-way mirror design, when they eat, you can see them tucking in - without intruding.

This is a wonderful little item (created with naturalist and TV presenter Nick Baker). It’s easy to use, easy to clean and a magnet for hungry little bellies. We filled ours with bird peanuts and there is a steady stream of visitors throughout the day.

It's a lovely way to observe the birds doing their thing, and the thrill of a bird fluttering close by as it comes to pick up a spot of breakfast doesn't diminish!
Every home should have one.

Giving canines as Christmas presents is a ridiculous idea, although there is one exception.

Meet Noodles the wobbly dog, a shaggy-looking rocker who can't stop grooving to music.  Pop in two AA batteries, cue up your favourite track and watch this four-legged cutie let the music take him over!

Very sweet, and there's no need to walk or feed this fella either.

With Noodles in the house, you can be sure of a wriggly, jiggly Christmas time.  The wobbly dog comes in pink too.
