ICYMI: Milton Keynes agility star triumphant at Crufts

Rival, a Border Collie from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, took a top agility prize at Crufts earlier this month, winning the Kennel Club Novice Cup.

Rival (whose official Kennel Club name is Delanor Arch Rival) and owner Sam Lane, won in the large category after competing in an exciting agility final at the world's greatest dog show. The top ten large, eight medium and eight small dogs from the Novice Cup competition (Grades 3, 4 or 5) held at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival last August
took part in the finals on Thursday at Crufts.

Proud owner Sam said: "I knew we had a chance when we won the semi-final but I just came here to get the best out of my dog, so to win is the cherry on the top!

"The crowd is actually quite quiet when you're on, unlike Olympia in London where they're cheering but I don't actually
hear it until the end as I'm always focused."

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club secretary said: "Congratulations to Rival and Sam for a fantastic performance at Crufts. The Novice Cup is a great competition and they should be proud to have won with their amazing teamwork.

"We wish them the best of luck for the future."
