Knitting Nana's emotional Remembrance Day tributes in Newport Pagnell

It should come as no surprise to learn that Knitting Nana has been clicking her needles and has created another fabulous postbox topper in Newport Pagnell – this time to mark Remembrance Day.

The topper is all my own design and it’s a cause close to my heart because my Dad and my sister are veterans,” she told Total MK.

But the Lakes Lane offering isn't all – she has also made a tribute to the animals of war, which can be seen in the  town, in the window of the RSPCA store.

And you can purchase your own Knitting Nana keepsake there, which will benefit the charity – she has made purple poppy brooches and tags which are now for sale.

Knitting Nana has also applied her creativity across the road – knitting up a splendid AgeUK window display, with a particularly poignant tribute. You can also purchase a knitted red poppy to swell their charity coffers.

The banner has the names of those from the town who died in the conflict,” she told us, “I want to keep their memories alive and highlight the sacrifices that were made by so many.”
