Leader of the House of Lords visits Milton Keynes

Baroness Evans, the Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal, recently visited St Paul’s Catholic School in Milton Keynes.

Baroness Evans was shown round the school by the head teacher, Jo-Anne Hoarty, before answering questions posed by sixth-form politics students.

Some members of Milton Keynes Youth Cabinet from other schools joined for the session, so Baroness Evans was able to listen to and discuss issues with young people of Milton Keynes.

“We were delighted to welcome Baroness Evans to our school and the insightful way she explained her role in the Government of the country was much appreciated by the students,” said Jo-Anne.

Milton Keynes South MP, Iain Stewart added: “It is visits like these that are so helpful in the broader education of the young people of Milton Keynes. This was also a great opportunity for Baroness Evans to meet some of the MK Youth Cabinet, with whom we enjoy regular interaction.”

Mark Lancaster, Milton Keynes North MP, said:  “I am sure Baroness Evans will have enthused some of the students to consider careers in politics, even at the end of one of the most momentous weeks in the country’s history."
