Man sentenced to life imprisonment for Grievous Bodily Harm in Milton Keynes

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for Grievous Bodily Harm.

Zachary Lemonnier, aged 19, of no fixed abode was found guilty by unanimous jury at Aylesbury Crown Court on 12 June of one count of wounding with intent (GBH) and one count of robbery following a five day trial.

He was sentenced at the same court on Friday (2/8) to life imprisonment with a minimum tariff of three years and 274 days.

Lemonnier is already serving a life sentence with a minimum tariff of 16 years for the murder of Ronnie Wrighting, aged 29, which occurred on Saturday, August 11 last year.

Lemmonier’s new sentence means that he will now serve at least 18 years and 287 days in prison.

The court hear that at about 4am on 29 May, 2018, at Milton Keynes train station, Lemonnier launched an unprovoked attack on a vulnerable 39-year-old woman.

He kicked and punched her to the ground and then stamped on her, knocking her unconscious before stealing from her.

This assault caused her to sustain a fractured eye socket and a broken nose as well as extensive bruising to her body.

Lemonnier was charged with the offence on 5 November.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Damien Freeman, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “This was a particularly violent and sustained attack on a vulnerable woman which was completely unprovoked.

“Lemonnier is a violent and dangerous individual, and has now been given two life sentences, firstly for murder and now for this GBH incident.

“He will be spending more than 18 years in prison before he will be considered for release.

“Violence of this nature will not be tolerated. I would like to thank our prosecuting barrister and the Crow Prosecution Service for their work in helping to bring Lemonnier to justice.”
