Milton Keynes Marathon seeks superheroes - are you up for the challenge?

The call has gone out for superheroes of all ages to costume-up and report to Stadium MK on Bank Holiday Monday (May 1) for the Milton Keynes Marathon Superhero Fun Run.

Last year, all 1200 places on the fun run sold out and only 300 places remain for 2017, so organisers are warning families to sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.

The Superhero Fun Run is suitable for all abilities with a 1.5 mile course which finishes with a lap of the stadium and cheering crowds, just like the MK Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay races.

The most difficult decision will be which superhero family to come as.

Will you choose Superman, Supergirl and Superkids, or Batman and his Batfamily? Maybe The Spideys or even the Incredible Hulk and his green offspring!

There will be trophies for the winners, second and third places and amazing superhero medals for everyone.

There’s plenty of family fun all day at the Milton Keynes Marathon in the new Race Village which will feature a live DJ, music and entertainment plus kids’ inflatables, a climbing wall, bungee trampolines, bumper cars and bouncy castles.

And while the kids are having fun, Mum and Dad can relax with some refreshing local beers courtesy of Concrete Cow Brewery.

The Milton Keynes Marathon is set to be one of the biggest events of the MK50 celebratory year with 10,000 runners predicted to take part.

Event Director Andy Hully said: “The Superhero Fun Run is an incredible spectacle every year – it’s brilliant to see everyone in their super costumes and there’s always lots of smiles and fun. Unfortunately we only have a short window between the main races so we can only have 1,200 superheros so I’d urge families to sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.”
