Milton Keynes MP welcomes further police funding to tackle violent crime

Mark Lancaster, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has welcome an extra £1,160,000 worth of funding for local police to tackle violent crime in Milton Keynes.

The Violence Reduction Unit boost for Thames Valley Police follows £1,500,000 in April and a further £440,000 in May.

This follows an announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson granting extra stop and search powers for police across the country to help tackle knife crime.

Mark said: “This further funding for Thames Valley Police is very welcome news.

“The money will go towards preventative measures, involving local police, healthcare workers, community leaders and others.

“I will continue to work hard to ensure Milton Keynes gets the funding it needs to keep our residents safe.”
