Milton Keynes Muslim youth collect donations for Oxfam

Youth from Britain’s oldest and largest Muslim Youth Association in Milton Keynes donated clothes and toys to Oxfam, for the less fortunate of the society, as part of their regular charity initiatives.

Local Youth Leader for Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association  from Milton Keynes, Saeed Nazir said: "AMYA takes small initiatives to serve a dual purpose of not only helping charitable causes but also reminding Muslims and non-Muslims alike that Islam and its founder stood firmly for equality and alms within humanity. It is this fundamental principle which form the basis for the work of AMYA.

‘‘AMYA Milton Keynes have been volunteering all year in various activities under the national AMYA ‘Muslims For Humanity’ campaign.

"Each year they have been keeping the streets of Milton Keynes clean and attending litter pick events. Food donations have been distributed to the homeless and the needy in collaboration with third parties as part of feeding sessions across Milton Keynes. Moreover, the youth have been regularly visiting the hospitals and care homes lately as part of their civic and religious obligations’’.

Thanking AMYA for the donation, Abi from Oxfam said: ‘‘Wonderful to have this large donation. Thank you for supporting our shops and our life-saving work!’’

The organisation focuses on helping young Muslims become better citizens and fulfill their religious obligations of serving God and humanity. AMYA is the UK's largest Muslim youth organisation and the leading Muslim youth group. For more information visit
