Acorn Early Years Foundation, one of the leading childcare providers in Milton Keynes, has announced that it has taken over the Cold Harbour pre-school’s lease of the former children’s centre in West Bletchley.
The new provision will be a 45 place day nursery combined with an outdoor learning centre, building on Acorn’s popular Forest School provision and reputation for Forest School training.
This will include an outdoor holiday playscheme, which it is hoped will be piloted for a week this summer, and will then operate in school holidays. The nursery is expected to be ready to open its doors by mid-October.
Acorn is a not-for-profit social enterprise and charity, and it is hoped that the new nursery and outdoor learning centre will help to provide outdoor play and learning facilities for local community groups.
Outdoor play and learning in natural environments is a key part of Acorn’s ethos, and the new site has a fabulous outdoor space which will also be a base for Acorn’s forest school and outdoor learning teams.
