Public meeting for Milton Keynes Community Boat

Plans for a fully-accessible all-electric 12-seater 'green' narrowboat running trips along the Grand Union Canal from Campbell Wharf are moving ahead at pace.

More funding has been secured, the boat specification is almost final, and over twenty volunteer boat crew have been recruited.

The next open meeting about this exciting project will be held on Wednesday 22 January, 7-9pm at the Parks Trust Pavilion, 1300 Silbury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 4AD.

Bedford and Milton Keynes Waterways Trust invites local residents to come and find out more, and help shape our summer cruising plans. Where would you like to go by boat on the canal? What would you like to do?

The team is keen to meet local people who are interested in the project and would like to share their ideas and experiences, and maybe get involved – there are many different volunteer roles to be filled.

In particular they are looking for people who may like to be a Cabin Host - it’s a great people-facing role, out and about on the water, welcoming guests on board. The project also needs people with all kinds of practical ‘land crew’ skills including IT, sales, marketing, PR, admin, finance, maintenance.

All are welcome to join attend the meeting and/or at the final open meeting, which will be held on Monday 09 March, 7-9pm at the Parks Trust Pavilion.
