MK THEATRE GOES TO THE DARK SIDE

The Woman in Black is one of those exceptional theatrical smashes - the sort of thing every writer hopes for, but only the very, very few ever achieve.

But Susan Hill is one of those writers who work struck a chord - and continues to enthral and chill its audience in equal measure.

Currently celebrating its quarter century in the West End, The Woman in Black also made it to the big screen in  2012, when Daniel Radcliffe took the starring role in the film version.

The major motion picture went on to become the highest grossing British horror film for 20 years.

Now, The Woman in Black is coming back to Milton Keynes - it arrives on Monday (March 23) for a six-day stay.

'Arthur Kipps in a lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a 'Woman in Black'.

He engages a young actor to help him tell his story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul.

It begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories, they find themselves caught up in a world of eeries marshes and moaning winds.  The borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep.'
