My Christmas: Milton Keynes panto star Lee Mead gets seasonal with Total MK

Lee Mead has swapped the corridors of Holby General for a festive season in the new city, starring as Aladdin in the Qdos panto spectacular at Milton Keynes Theatre.

He is partnered with panto ace Joe Pasquale in the show, which is a riot.
The cast are working two shows a day, six days a week through to January 12, 2020.
It's a hefty run, but even they get December 25 off. So how will Lee be spending Christmas Day?
He shared all with Total MK...

What's the one gift you would love to find in your Christmas stocking on December 25 – and why?
Just to be with my daughter and those closest to me. Nothing is more special or important on Christmas Day for me.

What is the most bizarre gift you've received?
A book from a fan on how to sing. It did make me chuckle.

What's the most stressful part of Christmas for you?
I don't find Christmas stressful. The only stress can be when we all travel too much on Christmas Day to see too many people.

You have a busy season in panto, so how will you relax on Christmas Day? Talk us through your day...
Wake up with my girlfriend and her son to a cuppa and spend the morning together, then drive late morning to pick up my daughter from her mum for the day and night.

What are the television essentials – what will you watch?
I always watch my favourite Christmas film, Santa Claus: The Movie with Dudley Moore. I first saw it when I was four years old, and have watched every Christmas since.

Christmas pudding: A must-do, or a must avoid?
I tend to avoid and go for mince pies with custard.

Brussel sprouts, or no brussel sprouts?
Always brussel sprouts. Love them.

Do you have a preferred Christmas song?
The Pogues with Fairytale of New York.

Finally, tell us why we people need to come and see Aladdin. What makes this production a must-do?
Honestly, this is a wonderful panto; full of laughs, great music and songs, and some amazing costumes and set.
It's my first time working with Joe Pasquale too, and he is so much fun. We haven't stopped laughing since day one, and the audience will be laughing just as much. We really do have a cracking panto this year.
