YOU ARE THE ONES THAT THEY WANT!

Dust off your leather jacket and prepare your poodle skirt – the rock ‘n’ roll 1950s are on their way to Stantonbury Theatre.   Milton Keynes Amateur Operatic Society will perform an electrifyin’ production of cult classic Grease for audiences from this evening (June 17) and through to Saturday. The award-winning group boasts some talented performers. Cast members include Peter Corrigan, who will play ‘bad boy’ leading man Danny Zuko. Peter previously played Sammie in Bill Kenwright’s UK tour of ‘Blood Brothers’, as well as covering Jesus in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group. Grease charts the teen romance between wholesome ‘girl next door’ Sandy Dumbrowski and handsome leader of the ultra-cool T-Birds Gang, Danny. They had a summer fling and their accounts of what exactly happened differ somewhat as they confide in their friends on the first day of a new term at school... Set at Rydell High School in 1959, it’s a tale of love, friendship and teenage rebellion told through a jukebox selection of unforgettable tunes. MKAOS will be belting out all the songs we know and love from the hit movie, including You’re The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You and Greased Lightnin’. Tickets are available from the MKAOS box office on 07765 084 193 or visit www.mkaos.co.uk for more information.
