A Solo Virtuoso: Violinist Mark Prescott plays live in Stony Stratford this week

Mark Prescott is a uniquely talented violinist, at home in a wide variety of genres.

His leading reputation in French Dance music was illustrated last year by being invited to be a featured artist in TRAD Magazine, France and Bal Folk’s leading Traditional Dance Music publication.

Mark has been proud to contribute to the Stony Stratford musical scene over many years, initially through the paternal support of Matt Armour, spending time playing in his legendary group the Gaberlunzies. He is well known for his long term collaboration with Clive Williams as Vivant.

Mark’s repertoire continues to grow and develop, enhanced through his Irish location in County Armagh, and through his collaborations with European based artists such as Philippe Plard and with Mike Gulston in his other regular duo, Deux Sans Frontieres.

On Sunday (January 29) you have a rare opportunity to hear Mark’s material solo at York House, in an intimate setting where the colours and nuances of his music can be given full rein. You are in for a treat when the music airs between 3pm and 5pm.

Admission is £6, payable on the door.
