Staff at Nationwide Building Society are inviting the local community to enjoy a slice of cake this morning (Sept 30).
The hot brews and sweet treats are being offered in support of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Milton Keynes branch in Silbury Blvd is putting in the effort to raise vital funds for people affected by cancer, to help ensure no one faces cancer alone.
In 2016 the company is the official Community Partner for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, and in MK, staff know too well the benefit of Macmillan support.
Jill Richardson, Customer Host at Nationwide Milton Keynes was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
“After being diagnosed last summer, I was so grateful for the physical and emotional support that I received from Macmillan.
“Our branch has always loved getting involved in Macmillan’s Coffee Morning, but this year we’ll be pushing ourselves to make it extra special because we understand the huge difference Macmillan’s support can make," Jill said.
"We’ll be celebrating with the usual baked goodies, bunting and balloons and raising as much money and awareness as we can for this amazing charity.”
Suzanne Grant, Branch Manager at Nationwide Milton Keynes added: “Many of us know someone like Jill who has been affected by cancer, so Macmillan is a charity that’s close to our hearts. At Nationwide, we believe life’s better when we share and even better when we share time together for a good cause.”
