Bletchley Park to host swing dance world record attempt

Join Bletchley Park on June 23 when they attempt the world record for the World’s Largest Swing Dance Lesson.

 

For the first time ever, Bletchley Park will be attempting to break a Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Swing Dance Lesson.

Professional swing dance group, JiveSwing, will be in attendance to help teach you some new moves and prepare for the lesson which will take place at 7.30pm.

 

The event will begin at 5.30pm and finish at approximately 10pm.  It will include a warm up with a DJ, special performances from two groups of dancers, alongside the opportunity to purchase food and drink from the food stalls and vintage-style cocktail bar.

The record attempt will commence at 7.30pm and last for approximately 45 minutes.

A representative from Guinness World Records will also be in attendance. As this is an official World Record attempt, all participants will be required to follow the teacher as closely as possible for the attempt to be valid. At the end of the lesson all participants will be asked to complete a three minute dance.

Guinness criteria stimulates all participants will need to be in pairs. The dance is for partners; not solo dancers.
