BROUGHTON CHURCH OPEN DAY REVEALS MEDIEVAL SPLENDOUR

A mere five minutes away from Central Milton Keynes you'll find Broughton Church St Lawrence – which has sat at the heart of our changing landscape for nigh on 700 years.

If its walls could talk, imagine the tales they would tell.

Mind you, those walls do conjure up a significant sense of history – with some magnificent medieval wall paintings looking over visitors.

Friends of St Lawrence members will be giving tours of the church at Sunday's (August 9) open day, and refreshments will be available throughout the event, happening between 11am and 4pm.

A 'bring and share' village picnic is also being held at midday, and a children's activity will be running in the church.

It's no accident that the event is being held on the Feast Day of St Lawrence too.

Entry is free, but if you want to see more about the church before you go, click to www.visitchurches.co.uk
