ENJOY SONGS OF SUMMER WITH MK CHORALE

Milton Keynes Chorale hosts its summer concert this Saturday (July 11), in Stony Stratford.

St Mary and St Giles Church in Stony Stratford is the setting for the show, with music chosen by the Chorale's new musical director, Victoria Ely.

She has produced a glorious programme of material called Songs of Summer, but 'It could have been called Songs of Love,'say those at the Chorale.

The whimsical and, for Brahms, very successful Liebeslieder Waltzes is a collection of folk songs and love poems from Daumer's Polydora.

The four handed accompaniment will feature two brilliant young pianists, Paul McKenzie and Nicola Rose, who will also be performing some of Brahms' piano duets.

Additionally, an eclectic assortment of musical styles will be found in Parry's O Love, They Wrong Thee Much, and Love is a Sickness, Seibers' Yugoslav Folk Songs and Lauridsen's delicate and beautiful Dirait-on.

The concert has an early start, 5pm, and runs straight through.  Afterwards, relax with the choir, friends and family as light refreshments are served.

Tickets are £13 (just £2 for full time students and accompanied children).
