Fireman Sam and Bedfordshire Firefighters visit Woburn Safari Park to spread road safety message

Fireman Sam & Bedfordshire Firefighters will swoop in to promote road safety at Woburn Safari Park on Saturday (September 17).

Between 11.30am and 3.30pm, visitors will be invited to meet the local Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Crew, come face-to-face with Fireman Sam and learn all about road safety.

The firefighters will discuss simple rules that can help people play their part and be safer on the roads.

Families will also be invited to make a pledge to improve road safety, whatever form of transport they use.

“We are delighted to be working with Woburn Safari Park to remind visitors about the importance of staying safe on the road,” said Laraine Rason, spokesman for the Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Crew.
“The animals will act as a reminder to adults and children alike about some of the characteristics of poor road user behaviours, and to be safer on our roads.”

The nation’s favourite fictional fireman will be taking a break from rescuing his friends and colleagues for the day to make personal appearances on the decking of the Park’s Mammoth Play Ark at 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.

There will also be colouring competitions to win some brilliant safari animal prizes at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
