MK CITY ORCHESTRA WELCOMES BACK CELLIST JAMIE WALTON

Milton Keynes City Orchestra launches its new season this Sunday (Oct 11) with another suitably sweet package of finery.

Following on from his MKCO debut last season (when he wowed with his delivery of Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No1), cellist Jamie Walton returns to the stage.

This time, his powers as a soloist will be utilised on Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No1.

Also figuring in Sunday's programme at MK Theatre will be pieces by Khachaturian (Adagio from Spartacus), Bernstein (West Side Story Symphonic Dances) and Ravel's famous Bolero...which you all know, if only for being the accompanying music for Torvill and Dean's Olympic winning dance back in 1984.

But we digress.

Once again, MKCO musical director and principal conductor Damian Iorio (pictured) will be at the helm when the curtain rises at 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale starting at £12 and rising to £34.
