STONY STRATFORD ENJOYS SUNSHINE AND SHADOWS IN SUPPORT OF ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

A concert of song and chamber music commemorating the First World War will be hosted at St Mary & St Giles Church in Stony Stratford on Saturday (Oct 25). Sunshine and Shadows – British Composers and the Great War, will feature tenor Jack Cornwell, pianist Ed Tomlinson, soprano Clare Turner and baritone Simon Woodhead with the Quartet Camerata. Music aired will include pieces by composers Vaughan Williams, Holst, Ireland, Butterworth and Gurney. Proceeds raised from the show – which is being held at St Mary & St Giles Church in Stony Stratford, will go to The Royal British Legion. Tickets are on sale at £7 (£5 for concessions, accompanied under 16s £1), which includes a complimentary glass of wine during the interval.
