'The buildings of Wolverton Works' talk set for Milton Keynes Museum this week

Tomorrow night (Tuesday, January 14) Phil Marsh and David Hilliard will be presenting a new Wolverton Works talk entitled The buildings of Wolverton Railway Works.

The event, taking place at Milton Keynes Museum, will include a high percentage of images never seen in public before and will feature inside, outside and aerial photographs from before World War 1 right up to 2020.

Long serving Museum volunteer Ron Unwin has provided many images taken of the now long-demolished buildings while Phil Marsh will be showing images taken officially inside the derelict sheds.

Phil Marsh authored 'The Full Works' the official Wolverton Works 175th anniversary and Royal Train book while David Hilliard spent nearly half a century in the Works and the pair have curated this brand new talk. Many other staff will also be there to help answer questions about the Works.

This is a unique opportunity to find out about what lies out of sight behind the Stratford Road wall which, along with the buildings that make up the site are due for demolition.

Copies of The Full Works will be available at the talk from Phil Marsh for £5.

Admission costs £2 and you are advised to arrive early as the previous three Wolverton Works talks at the museum have attracted record audiences with standing room only.

The talk is expected to last around 90 minutes and begins at 7.30pm.
