He has been called the 'Zappa or Hendrix of the UK Fine Art scene,' while on social media JJ Adams has been described as the next 'Andy Warhol'.
Modestly, he says that was an auto-correct mistake...
The mixed-media ace cuts a creative slice to the heart of celebrity images and landmarks, transforming them while blurring the lines between digital, pop and fine art.
And there are no shortage of takers for his creations.
On Saturday (May 23) JJ will visit ARTfull gallery in thecentre:mk which is currently housing his Spring Collection.
Moving from Plymouth to Cape Town as a child, JJ discovered a love of bright colour and graphic art in the studio of contemporary artist Derric van Rensburg.
He went on to study graphic design before taking an apprenticeship at a tattoo parlour.
He returned to these shores in the mid-1990's, still with the aim of turning inking into a career. He worked Camden Market, struggling to make ends meet before, frustrated, he returned home to Plymouth, and to college to study commercial printing.
JJ worked as a graphic designer and a sign maker, painting in his spare time, but with a few paintings sold through a local gallery, he upped his easel and moved back to London to try once more for that career in art.
Spray paint, photography, collage, screen printing and digital matte painting all finds space in his creations and the gallery will be giving you the opportunity to win a limited edition print of his work, Full Metal Twiggy Colour Tattoo, at Saturday's event, from 11am.
