History
An embroidery and printed fabric/ pattern designer for the home and fashion industry, still working freelance as a textile desigber selling work to brand names and designers globally. Now painting vibrant watercolour florals and teaching others the joy of Watercolour painting too.
The piece of work you have produced that you are most proud of, and why?
Emboidery designs that were featured on TV and in the film Gladiato.
Some if my first designs and most proud feelings at a very early stage of my design career were designs for embroideries for bridal wear. Knowing ladies were spending the most special day of there lives and probably the most beautiful and highly considered dress they would ever wear gave me great pride.
Did you choose art, or did art choose you?
I chose design and art from a very young age, and had a clear direction from school years that all I wanted to do wad draw and paint and create for a living.
Career highlight
Winning an award for Best new product design for a range of fabrics embellished with Swarovski crystals.
If you could invite three artists, living or dead, to create a masterpiece with, who would you choose and why?
Monet, and Soroya, both dead impressionists, and Trevor Waugh - very much alive!
They all use colour so deliciously to capture florals and gardens and light in a captivating way
Tell us about your creative ambitions?
To just get better and better at painting and teaching and sharing this with others. To master light , movement and pure translucent colour.
