New York-based painter Ellen Altfest is the latest artist to present work at MK Gallery.
Her first solo exhibition of paintings in a UK public gallery launches at the venue on Friday (April 3).
Her works might be intricate, but her titles are the antithesis, with a certain ‘blunt descriptiveness’ about them.
Previous pieces have included Gourds, Two Logs, Green Plant, Penis and Torso.
The exhibition will include early paintings of rocks and trees in the landscape, paintings of plants and gourds in the studio, and works from a series of male nude studies that the artist began back in 2006.
The show will continue through to May 31. Admission is free.
