The history of the Milton Keynes area is rich and interesting - and now it thas been captured in a new page-turner that is out now.
The area has produced a queen of England, a Gunpowder plotter, Archbishops, inventors and codebreakers.
The district once had Roman villas, castles, monasteries, and many grand houses.

The Watling Street, the Grand Junction Canal, the London & Birmingham Railway and the M1 have shaped the district at various periods.
Above all the people of the area have been able to adapt to change.
The authors of Before Milton Keynes 1, John A. Taylor and Bryan Dunleavy have compiled a selection of stories to include all communities within a 12 mile radius of the centre of Milton Keynes, and each of the stories are arranged by community.
