Fans of the Robert Louis Stevenson penned classic Treasure Island will be in for a treat this Thursday (Jan 22) night - a new production is being broadcast live from the Olivier Theatre to cinemas around the country, and internationally.
Cineworld MK is one of those lucky enough to be showing the work, delivered by the National Theatre.
The three hour long piece has been written by Bryony Lavery, and produced by Polly Findlay.
'On a dark and stormy night, innkeeper's grand-daughter Jim opens the door to a terrifying old seadog. In his giant chest full of secrets lurks a map to an island where a legendary pirate buried a massive hoard of treasure.
'So begins Jim's incredible, dangerous and swashbuckling adventure that brings her up against the dreaded Long John Silver.'
Bryony's trademark is strong female characters and so this new spin on the work sees her recasting the role of Jim as a girl.
Showtime is 7pm. To book tickets visit www.cineworld.com
