The passing of Tearaways member John Ferriter has shocked and saddened the music world, but the band will honour dates on its intimate uK tour.
“John would have not wanted us to throw the towel in because he’s not with us“ says John Finseth, founding member of The Tearaways.
“The passing of John has shocked and saddened us all and we want to honour John’s memory with the following UK Shows”.
Featuring legendary Blondie drummer Clem Burke, The Tearaways have been a long time California staple from their simple origins in the Santa Barbara indie scene back in 1981 to their current status as a touring and recording act.
With Five major releases over the last five years, the band continues to push the boundaries both creatively and through sheer stamina and their last release “Esquire” (for short) has taken the band to a new level showing that age is only a number.
The influential Santa Barbara band The Tearaways pay tribute to their bass player with a new double A-side single.
It features the new track ‘Calipopicana’, which echoes the greats The Beach Boys and The Beatles alongside the recent ‘The Wrecking Crew’, which Steven Van Zandt (AKA Little Steven) picked as The Coolest Song In The World on Sirius XM’s Underground Garage.
The two tracks preview their forthcoming studio album ‘We Grew Up On AM Radio’. Recorded with John – it is the band's sixth album and will be released later this year.
Special guest support comes from Ryan Hamilton & The Harlequin Ghosts,Trans Atlantic rock n roll band hailing from Texas and the UK and opening up proceedings is Bedford’s very own The Reformers.
