Nearly 30 years ago, two up and coming singer songwriters from different countries were brought together to make a record.
The two hopefuls were Boo Hewerdine from the UK and Darden Smith from the USA.
They hadn't previously met each other's acquaintance, but it happened they got on very well and released the excellent album Evidence, which garnered some really good reviews.
Since then they have both prospered in their careers with Boo fronting his band The Bible in the 1980’s and writing with and for many UK artistes including Chris Difford and Eddi Reader.
Boo has also been nominated for the prestigious Ivor Novello Award.
Darden has also pursued a successful musical career and is now well known for his SongwritingWith:Soldiers programme.
This organises weekend retreats during which professional songwriters are paired with veterans and active duty service members who share stories about their experiences of combat and the return home.
Working collaboratively, the musicians and soldiers turn those stories into songs.
In 2013, Boo and Darden played Tingewick Village Hall in Buckingham, and on Friday, June 1, they return.
"It was one of the best shows we have ever had there," says promoter Mike Trotman of that first show, "Not only was music magical but also they were both extremely funny. It was a wonderful night, which we aim to recapture this time."
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are on sale at £12.
