A musical phenomenon, André Rieu is unlike anything else in the entertainment world.
Together with his Johann Strauss Orchestra, Rieu has created a global revival in waltz music with his spectacular extravaganzas.
He has sold more than 35 million discs, received more than 400 Platinum Awards, and is in fact the biggest solo male touring artist in the world – more successful, in ticket sales, than Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay and AC/DC!
His onstage charisma and rock-star demeanour make Rieu’s shows the only classical concerts where people literally jump to their feet and dance in the aisles.
His last album, Love in Venice hit the racks last year, and was a typically huge success.
Now, Andre returns to Italy with his new album Roman Holiday, which is released next Friday (Nov 13).
Rome is the perfect setting for Rieu’s new album - not only is it a dream destination for people around the world, but also the city where he and his wife Marjorie love to “get away” to.
It’s their very own romantic Shangri-La, full of culture, music, politics and antiques.
The album features well-loved favourites such as Arrivederci Roma, the theme from Cavalleria Rusticana and Ennio Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe, alongside beautiful music from two of the world’s most treasured Italian operas, Verdi’s La Traviata and Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.
‘Roman Holiday’ comes with a DVD for fans to, once again, bring a touch of Rieu magic into their own living rooms.
