It all started with a chance meeting in a Cologne recording studio at the tail-end of the 90's, and since then, Nic Chagall and Bossi - aka Cosmic Gate - have conquered all over.
And now, Germany's most successful and enduring electronic music duo are coming this way - they are booked on board the Electric Daisy Carnival event at the National Bowl next month.
They stepped away from the tunes (for a moment), to spill the beans on the EDC brand and their forthcoming summer of sounds...
EDC boasts an unparalleled artist line-up. Tell us what you bring to the party that is unique
We think the sound we play is simply unique. No other DJ's really do what we do, we are certainly not EDM, not typical trance, either.
We simply do our own thing, come and check it out!
How important is EDC as a brand?
In the US EDC certainly is one of the big brands for festival, especially the Vegas edition, which is known to set new standards - close to half a million visitors in three nights sure is a huge number.
EDC is the only happening that changes the looks of Las Vegas during the year. The whole electronic music genre should be proud of it
Tell us about your best EDC experience so far - on stage, or off
This is hard to answer. We had so many good shows and memories playing for EDC in the US, and are sure to add more playing EDC in Europe for the first time!
Who will you most be looking forward to checking in with at the bash?
We will mostly be hanging with the guys from our stage. At the moment we are touring with IIan Bluestone in the US and we'll be sure to catch up. Our fellow German friends PvD will be there and its been a while since we had time for a chat and a hangout.
Your own set aside, how will you spend the rest of the day?
We will be snooping around, see some other DJs playing, hang backstage and meet new people from the scene. Simply having a good time and enjoying EDC
EDC takes the live experience to a new level, but how do these huge outdoor events vary from the more usual show for you?
On a regular club night the sets are simply longer. The sets can be more properly built up. On top we are closer to the crowd, can take them on a journey.
It's a different kind of atmosphere comparing to the shorter, more high energy set on a big stage show such as EDC, and playing both is the perfect balance for us, and the different kind of music that we write as producers, and play as DJ's
EDC aside, what does the rest of the summer have in style for you?
Our whole summer is packed with festivals and club shows in Austrlaia, Europe, Asia and the US.
We have six shows lined up for Ibiza too, so our favourite island will be our base for a good amount of time as well. We are looking forward to a great summer season
Give us your tips for the sounds of the summer, 2015
We don't see one sound dominating. For us, it's more like a lot of genres actually do great - techno is strong, trance is coming back, deep house will be especially big in Ibiza.
That's what we like - different kinds of music for different kinds of nights, a strong wide electronic scene with producers and DJs writing and playing genre crossing music, crowds that don't limit themselves to being one dimensional. That's what we hope for the summer of 2015 To book tickets for EDC on July 11, visit http://uk.electricdaisycarnival.com/
