Gaz Brookfield plays Levellers tour warm-up at The College Arms in Cranfield

How better to warm up for a tasty tour with The Levellers than by raising the roof of The College Arms in Cranfield?

That’s what acoustic whizz Gaz Brookfield will be found doing this Friday (November 18) when he plays under the Forest Folk & Roots banner before joining The Levellers on their quarter century anniversary Levelling The Land tour.

Gaz is hardly fresh to this stuff though - and is already five albums deep into his bod of musical work.

Since Acoustic Magazine bestowed the title of 2010 Singer/Songwriter of the Year on Brookfield, he has toured with gusto, playing  not just this fair Isle but across Europe, racking up more than 1000 shows.
Along the way he has staged shared with numerous faces you know - people like Frank Turner and New Model Army, and Newton Faulkner and Seth Lakeman.

His festival record is pretty smart too - he’s hit up more than 100 UK festivals, and yep, that does include Glastonbury, because its not only overblown so-called A-listers that hit up the Somerset site.
Good muso’s do too, and great ones, like Gaz.

But with Gaz occupying centre-stage for this event, organisers have brought in support from Milton Keynes-based acoustic chap Tony Hill, who claims influences from Damien Rice to Placebo.
He’s got a bit of va-va-vroom too has Tony - which will explain his Silverstone appearance during the British Grand Prix weekend...
