India Electric Company announce Milton Keynes return

On September 4, The Stables in Wavendon plays host India Electric Company - who some of you will have seen supporting Midge Ure at the venue.

India Electric Company use traditional instruments in contemporary styles, exploring diverse themes from Eastern Europe, Irish traditions and modern urban alienation.

The duo - Joseph O’Keefe and Cole Stacey - have been extensively supporting and accompanying Ure throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Scandinavia in the last 18 months.

On completion of their unique trilogy of CD releases BBC radio 3 captioned them as “quirky and glittery - a veritable musical magpie’s nest.”

“It will be a special night for us to return to a venue we know and love so well, where it feels like a homecoming show having first played on the stage 2 nearly five years ago” Stacey said.

“We were there last in April with Midge and he was incredibly supportive, there’s no doubt that him telling people to buy tickets has helped make it nearly sell out way in advance!”

It will be the first time the dynamic duo have headlined the Jim Marshall auditorium and they added “given the role rural traditions, places and folk songs have played in the material we have released over the last two years, The Stables seems the perfect venue to deliver these songs.”

The remaining tickets can be found here for what will be the duo’s only concert in the area until 2020 before they head off on tour taking in eleven different countries and a much anticipated second album.
