Since 2010 Joshua Abrams has toured North America and Europe with a shifting line up of musicians as Natural Information Society.
The group uses traditional and electric instrumentation to build long-form intricately psychedelic environments, composed and improvised, joining the hypnotic qualities of Gnawan guimbri to a wide range of contemporary musics and methodologies including jazz, minimalism and krautrock.
The bands album, Magnetoception was selected by the Wire as the #3 record of 2015 and by Pitchfork as the #2 experimental record of the year.
At Saturday's (March 31) MK Gallery date they will be supported by Devon Loch, which is acually the alias of Kit Records founder and NTS Radio resident Richard Greenan. Blending field recordings with modular synthesis and traditional instrumentation, his music hovers in the space between minimal composition and surreal radio broadcast.
Devon Loch has performed at Cafe Oto, NTS and Somerset House, and has collaborated with artists including Ela Orleans, Leafcutter John, Object Agency, Monoganon, Best Available Technology, Yaaard and Antidröm.
Tickets are £8 on the door.
