KIKI DEE, STEPHEN K AMOS AND THE JENNIFER CROOK TRIO AMONG THIS WEEK'S STABLES PARADE
Welcome To My World invites Stephen K Amos (below) when he rocks up at The Stables this Thursday (Oct 16) evening.
He is making a welcome return to the venue with an all-new show which comes hot on the heels of another Edinburgh Fringe run and tours Down Under.
Expect warm-hearted wit and room-filling effervescence from the man who puts the cha cha into charm and the pow! in polite.
'Just think of Mr Amos as that guest who asks the awkward, pin-drop moment questions at your dinner party,' say his people.
Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri (top pic) have spent the past two decades touring with their spellbinding acoustic shows, and in 2013 Kiki celebrated 50 years in the industry.
The duo celebrated her spectacular milestone by releasing the album A Place Where I Can Go.
Friday's (Oct 17) appearance will feature original numbers, cover songs and Kiki's hits, including I Got The Music In Me and Don't Go Breaking My Heart.
Albany Down also appear at the venue on Friday night - on Stage 2 - with support from The Billy Walton Band.
Saturday (Oct 18) presents Viva Santana doing that tribute thing for fans of the real deal.
Classic Rock have placed Viva Santana among their top five of 'must-see' tribute bands. So go on, grab a ticket.
On Stage 2, The Jennifer Crook Trio will tempt you with a swell pool of first-class contemporary folk sounds.
Jennifer's Americana influences are dressed up in a decidedly English style. Enjoy from 8.45pm.
Ace guitarist Martin Taylor is widely acclaimed for his finger-style guitar playing, which combined with his virtuosity, emotion and humour makes for a pretty formidable show. He's self-taught too, and began at the tender age of just four years old. Imagine that.
He plays live for you on Sunday (Oct 19).
Blofeld and Baxter (below) present Memories of Test Match Special on Monday (Oct 20), a night of untold stories from memory lane, and 'direct from the booth' insights from the Ashes and a summer of cricket.
Ensemble 360 will play twice at the venue on Tuesday (Oct 21) - with a school performance, Crazy Creatures, at 1pm, and then an evening show with works by Mozart and Dvorak set to engage with you.
This is a glorious programme of chamber music brimming with vitality and energy.
Or would you rather connect with Wednesday's (Oct 22) production, War Correspondents, a performance created by Helen Chadwick Song Theatre.
It comprises testimonies, music and physicality in a multi-disciplined song cycle performance depicting the extraordinary stories and life-changing experiences of war journalists, who as we know only too well, risk their lives in extraordinary circumstances.
Americana trio Red Molly will hold court on Stage 2, but at the time of writing there was standing room only available.
