MADBALL READY TO SET IT OFF AT THE CRAUFURD ARMS
Hardcore exponents Madball rock up at The Craufurd Arms this Saturday night (Sept 27).
The New York players are stalwarts on the scene, having originated back in the late 80s, a side project of legendary HC players Agnostic Front.
Total MK saw them as far back as 1994, when the band played in support of their debut long-player Set It Off, but they have moved on a bit since then, of course.
Freddy Cricien is still fronting the band though, and they are still active not only on stage, but also in the studio - and have just released their ninth album, the aptly tiled Hardcore Lives.
It might sound a cliche to read, but Madball really do keep it real, and their new album is rich in positivity, while attacking negativity - as is the case on the track Mr Armor, which "is about just squashing negativity and negative people in your path, by not making them a focal point in any way, shape or form," Freddy explains.
"People that hate for the sake of hating. People that are envious. People that take on personas via the internet, but don't have an ounce of credibility in life.
"All that comes and goes, but what we do and how we carry ourselves - that will stand the test of time and speak for itself.
"Kill them with positivity and actual factual things of merit," he added.
Support at the 'over 14s' show will be courtesy of Breaking Point and Coldburn, doors at 7.30pm, tickets are £12.
