Milton Keynes' indie-rockers Wah Wah Club play hometown show at The Craufurd Arms

Wah Wah Club bring their original brand of high energy passionate British indie rock to the Crauford Arms on Wednesday evening (April 25).

The Milton Keynes based band have been working hard recording at prestigious Black Barn Recording Studios in Surrey, with producer Charles Rees while completing live shows around the country.

Bassist Lee Smith said: “We are getting through a lot work at the moment, gigging and recording at the same time means the band are incredibly busy. It’s been hard but also massively rewarding.”

Wah Wah Club tease out subtle influences of Queens of the Stone Age and Nirvana, but tip your ears their way and you are just as likely to hear some Bowie and Clash, an eclectic mix with an interesting sprinkle of sounds from contemporary bands such as The Cribs and Foals.

Front man and songwriter Dan Buckland is looking forward to have the opportunity to Headline at the Craufurd Arms.

“I cannot wait, we seem to have played a lot of shows but not in our own city since last summer so it’s well overdue. The Craufurd has great memories for me, I live a couple of streets away, we are based and practise at Rock Hard Music around the corner so I don’t think it’s possible to be more local for us.”

Wah Wah Club will be playing all their newly recorded material at the show, which will be followed by new releases later this year.

Young Essex band Bilk and much talked about Northampton four piece Sarpa Salpa are up in support, and tickets are sweet too, at a mere£6.

Doors open at 7.30pm.  Get there on time.
