On Monday (May 18) Josh Chandler Morris and Carly Slade will officially release their new single, Who's Gonna Hold Your Hand.
The duo might have their roots in the punk scene, but take a listen to their musical union and you will be met with something quite different.
Theirs is the sound of a distinctly British take on acoustic Americana. And it's done really, really well.
Who's Gonna Hold Your Hand is infuriatingly catchy, and passionately delivered. It's the sound of a real union at play. “It's a comment on the self-interested philosophies to life often promoted in our culture,” Josh told Total MK.
“It's about where that attitude leaves you in the long run. We may be able to achieve and get ahead in the short term but ultimately if you've sought only your own success and happiness at the expense of others, you will be lonely in every sense of the word in the end.
“It's an attempt at promoting compassion and the importance of seeking greater meaning in our day to day lives.”
The duo have already broken through on the airways, with Radio 1 play, and in print, with Rock N Reel magazine declaring them as a Tip for 2015.
And this single will push them further forward.
“We've been really excited to get the new stuff out because it feels like a big step forward for us and this recording gives a truer representation of the live show we have developed over the last year,” Josh added.
