Northamptonshire's Shambala Festival opens for business this week

Speaking about Vula Viel's music, Iggy Pop invites you to 'Dance to it.  Make love to it.  Listen to it, stare at the clouds to it.  That music deserves good reactions!'

Named after the language of a tribe in Upper West Ghana, Vula Viel (meaning Good is Good) are among the tasty billing at this weekend's Shambala Festival, in Northamptonshire (August 25-28).

Mixing African, electronica and minimalist influences to fantastic effect, theirs is an intensely rhythmic music to engage, enchant and excite.

The debut album was dropped a little under a year ago, and titled Good is Good, and a second is currently being worked on.

Vula Viel will join a swell pool of players at Shambala including LTJ Bukem, Beans on Toast, Nightmare on Wax, Clap! Clap!, Matt Jam Lamont, Sam Green and the Midnight Heist, Anoushka Shankar, Kelly Oliver and Sister Sledge.
