Songwriter and lyricist Charlie Fink, former frontman of the highly successful band Noah and the Whale, multi-award winning playwright David Greig and director Max Webster have teamed up to present Cover My Tracks, a unique production intertwining music and theatre.
It premiered at London’s The Old Vic in June, and is now captivating audiences throughout the UK wherever it plays - and it arrives at The Stables for a two night stay on September 26 & 27.
A two-hander starring Fink himself, Cover My Tracks tells the tale of an idealistic young songwriter attempting to write a 21st century pop masterpiece, who suddenly vanishes without a trace. Might his personal songbook be the key to unlocking the mystery?
As the lead singer-songwriter for the band Noah and the Whale, Charlie Fink sold over a million albums and headlined at notable venues around the world, including a sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall. Fink’s initial foray into the theatre was also a collaboration with David Greig on their production of Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, which debuted at The Old Vic in 2015 and was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment and Family show.
Now returning with a brand new production that brings together the experience of a live gig and a modern folk tale, Cover My Tracks will showcase the artistic versatility of its protagonists, bringing a truly entertainingshow to lovers of music, theatre and the arts nationwide.

Barbara Ann by The Beach Boys.
Physical or digital - how do you take your music?
Music box. Preferably with a ballerina on top.
The first time you thought 'Music - this is the job for me'
I’m hoping that day will come soon.

Playing Joseph in my nursery nativity play. Its been downhill ever since.
What made you take up singing?
No one else would sing my songs.
Which one song by another artist do you wish you had written?
Gangnam Style.
And one - by yourself - which holds special significance?
Everything on Cover My Tracks.
If you could step into the shoes of another musician, living or dead, who would it be and what would you do?
Neil Young on the cover of ‘Everybody’s Rockin’ – those are some great shoes. Probably go to the disco, show off my shoes.
