ROCK HARD WITH MARSHALL AMPS!
Chris George is the local fella with a pedigree that takes him the world over, working as the official demonstration guy with Marshall Amplification.
As a result, Chris - who took the Young Guitarist of the Year award with Guitar Magazine back in the late '90s - is seldom seen at work on home ground.
Which makes this week's appearance at Rock Hard Music all the more special.
"I have been trying to get Chris to host a demo at the shop for ages but he is a very busy man," says Ronnie Orme, manager of the music store in Old Wolverton.
"I first met Chris when he was about 13...you could tell he had an amazing natural talent and he is still one of my favourite guitarists.
"I never get bored of his playing."
The retailer is the main Marshall Amplification dealer for the area, and Chris will use the demo evening to show models from the whole range of Marshall goods - from the affordable MG series all the way to the top end hand wired models.
A few guests will join Chris on stage to recreate the full live band performance.
In 2012 Chris worked on the Wembley Arena hosted Marshall 50 Years of Loud live event, working as MD for the show which gathered together some of the world's biggest guitar legends to 'play' tribute to the king of amps.
He has also been working in the West End, as guitarist on the smash hit show Mamma Mia.
"I'm really looking forward to this event as I don't really get to do much live work locally anymore and the lads at Rock Hard Music do a great job for Marshall as well as the local community," Chris said.
Admission and parking is free for Thursday's event (Dec 11), and doors open at 7pm ready for a 7.15pm start time.
