SIGUE SIGUE AND RICKY THORNE PREPARE TO TAKE OVER THE CRAUFURD
Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronic - the new incarnation of the 1980s pop-cyberpunkers and chart botherers - will be live at The Craufurd Arms on Friday (Oct 17) evening.
Original singer Martin Degville (below) will be joined by Johann Weidemann on the keyboards at the bash - which is being held in the bar.
Support is coming from amusing, engaging punk duo 2 Sick Monkeys, and the music goes live at 8pm.
Admission is free.
In the main room, BMX professional Ricky Thorne goes live - not with his bike, mind, but with his band - he's a whizz at music-making as well as wheelie-pulling!
Ricky's career is littered with success, but he wasn't handed an easy route to the top, as he explained: " "I am a mid-west kid from a lower middle-class factory neighborhood that stuck to his belief of never giving in - refusing to give up. I go for it and I will get there.
"It's the only way to live, to fully create and express yourself, to have a vision and follow through."
He has a select few words to inspire others to set their goals too: "Believe in yourself," he said.
Tickets are a fiver in advance for the show.
