Over at MK11, the Sunday Sessions have been going great guns recently, to the extent that organisers are holding an expanded version this weekend (Jan 24) – running from 6.30pm.
Set to wow you this time around are Ernest Herb (we've been writing this while rockin' to the retro, funked up sweetness of some of his old tunes, as it happens).
Reeds will be bringing an acoustic set to the proceedings, presumably with large portions of Crispy Crepes all round then?!
Quietly angsty, and a whole heap of fun this collective are.
Indie pop folkers Starlings and Sparrows might be small in number, but the duo of Dan and Rich are right chirpy, or to use their summary 'ramshackle rootsy indie folk, built with love.'
A couple of familiar faces they are too, and well worth checking in with.
But that line-up so far is actually only half the bill.
Also doing time in the spotlight will be singer-songwriter Jimmy Brewer.
The critically-acclaimed chap will tempt you with material taken from his two album releases to date, As Time Stands Still, and 2015's Strangers.
Inspiration? That comes from lonely, late night drives and helps its creator deliver 'Keith Richards'y guitar driven pop rock, filled with a nostalgic narrative, growing up, school and first loves.'
A slimline version of Banbury boys Red Crow (top) are also back in the Keynes for this show.
Patrick and Fred will be playing a stripped back interpretation of their band's set under the name, Two Crows, and will park their nice noise next to Chris Edwards.
It's a cracking bill with variety and talent all the way.
It's free entry too, sealing the deal – it's the only way to spend Sunday evening, folks, and runs through to 11.30pm.
