Total MK is passionate about animal welfare, and is one of the 600,000 (and counting) people who have been moved by the determination of a beautiful little puppy now named Tuffy, since his story appeared online a few days ago.
When he was six weeks old Tuffy chewed on his owners mobile phone.
In response, his owner poured boiling hot water over him before throwing him from a fourth floor window.
After such a brutal and sadistic attack, in China, Tuffy should never have survived, and certainly never would have without the quick thinking of passer-by Yan, who scooped up this appallingly injured puppy and sought emergency help for him.
He failed to improve with veterinary care and after a fortnight, Yan took the fragile pup to Animals Asia in the hope they might make a difference.
Making a difference is something the charity strives to do, day in, day out.
Its mission is to end the farming of bears for bile in Vietnam and China, to stop the suffering of wild animals in captivity and to ensure humane treatment of dogs and cats – including calling time on the cruel trade in dogs and cats for consumption.
Shocked staff raced into action to provide Tuffy with round the clock care.
With the help of the remarkable team at Animals Asia, and Yan's dedication to the little puppy, Tuffy has been given a second chance.

Unfortunately, the abuser responsible for the attack on Tuffy goes unpunished.
There are no animal welfare laws in China, which Animals Asia is lobbying to change.
“The publicity around Tuffy's story will further raise awareness of a need for such a law and further inspires us to pursue one,” the charity said in a statement.
“We believe there will be a 'Tuffy's law' that will make a lasting change to how animals are treated in China and how those who practice cruelty are sanctioned.'
Total MK tried out Santa's Spin the Wheel at Casino MK this week, and bagged £100. We have donated the winnings to AnimalsAsia towards their incredible work.
