The doors will open at the new state-of-the-art ODEON cinema at MK1 at the end of the month.
The 11 screen hub promises the largest screen in the area – an 18.5 metres wide and 10.3 metres high custom built IMAX® screen.
The cinema will also feature ‘The Gallery’ - a VIP ticket upgrade option - where guests will gain access to a private bar, larger seats, more leg room and unlimited nachos, popcorn and soft drinks, letting them experience the latest blockbusters in even more comfort.
“We’re incredibly excited to have the flagship ODEON cinema in Milton Keynes and within the MK1 Shopping and Leisure Park,” said Stephen Shaw, general manager of the new complex.
“Milton Keynes has always led the way with cinema technology, opening the UK’s first multiplex 30 years ago and this is set to continue with the new state-of-the-art facility.
“It has been months in the planning and we are now almost ready to open our doors. I hope everyone gets the chance to come down and take advantage of the fantastic new facilities.”
The advancement does mean the curtain will fall on a piece of Milton Keynes history though – when the Odeon's site at The Point finally shuts up shop to make way for the new centre.
The Point will cease trading as a cinema on February 26, while the new MK1 site – with a staff of 70 – opens for business a day later.
