Easter fun brings the generations together in Milton Keynes

The children from Acorn Day Nursery Shenley Church End have enjoyed visiting the residents of their local retirement village, Shenley Wood.

The youngsters have been enjoying making Easter masks and chicks with the residents, and even took some home-made hot cross buns that they made that morning for the residents to enjoy.

The visit was finished off with a group singing session.

The regular sessions are planned by nursery manager Joanne Colton who works closely with the team at Shenley Wood, the sessions are great for both children and residents and all involved benefit from spending quality time with each other.

These visits have been so beneficial to the residents that the nursery are looking to make them a regular fixture.

Nursery Manager Joanne COLTON said: “It is lovely to bring together the different generations and watching them bond and enjoy each other’s company is just wonderful, we are already planning our next visit and introducing some new activities”
