Festive Road is opening a gallery shop at their headquarters in Kiln Farm. The official opening is this Sunday (November 27) between 10am and 3pm.
The store will offer various art and craft work for sale, including some beautiful one-off pieces.
There will be textiles, sculpture and work by many MK based artists, as well as contributions from associates of Festive Road across the region.
Much of the art work has been created from recycled materials and depicts animals ...and fantastical creatures of all kinds made out of familiar objects!
By way of a launch party, at 3.00pm on Sunday, Festive Road will be parading some of their giant mechanical animal puppets and other costumes around Kiln Farm as part of Remembrance Day for Lost Species.
Incredibly, three species are lost to eternity every hour. Extinction is studied by scientists. Culturally, however, we risk forgetting the beauty and distinct life of extinct species and our historic relationship with past life forms. Meanwhile many of the most familiar British animals are struggling to survive in ever diminishing habitats.
Feel free to don fancy dress relating to lost or endangered species for Sunday's event.
